From the editor,
Victoria magazine:
“Painting, I have discovered, can be a wonderful way to escape from stress. You concentrate on the moment and the consequences of every brushstroke. A weekend watercolor workshop my sister and I took at The Art Students League of New York was a mini-vacation for us. Our instructor, Timothy J. Clark, an artist who has closely studied the painting of John Singer Sargent and Winslow Homer, led exercises in light and shadow, and peppered his lectures with technical pointers. Clark’s humor enlivened the insights and softened the critiques. Working alongside talented artists and novices for two intense days, we were both exhausted and energized.”
